A fleet is cleaned on a schedule set by service, not by chemistry. The wash bay has a fixed cycle time, the operator is not a chemist, and the same product has to move road film off aluminium, painted steel and stainless without etching any of them.

The program
Six stages, specified together.
Fleet chemistry fails at the joins — a presoak that strips the inhibitor applied after it, an interior disinfectant the effluent system cannot take. We quote the stages as one program so the joins are somebody’s problem before they are yours.

Presoak
Road film, salt and diesel soot are lifted on dwell before anything mechanical touches the surface. This is where a no-touch program either works or does not.

Wash
A cleaner specified against the mixed substrates a single vehicle presents — aluminium, painted steel, stainless and decals — so one pass does not etch one of them.

Undercarriage
Brake, chassis and undercarriage cleaning, including acid shock treatment where wheel ends have gone past what a detergent will recover.

Protect
Rust inhibitors and sealers applied while the surface is still clean, which is the only window where they do what the datasheet says.

Interior
Disinfectants and sanitizers for transit interiors and shared cabs, at dwell times a cleaning crew can actually hit inside a turnaround.

Effluent
Waste treatment for the water the bay produces, specified alongside the chemistry rather than bought separately from someone else.

Brushes are the least expensive part of a wash bay and the most expensive part of a fleet’s paint budget. Moving the work into the chemistry removes swirl, removes moving parts, and removes the variance between one operator and the next.
